Professional Career - Brief
1984 - 1997
Owned and operated Applied Micro Business Systems, Inc. (AMBS) a small "niche market" software development firm with a proprietary inventory and production management software package called Stock-Master 4.0 (Visual Basic, Access, COBOL).
Stock-Master 4.0 was adopted by many DOD, Government and Fortune 500 firms (DOS & early Windows environment) as part of their ERP solutions for corporate, division and project logistics solution.
AMBS also provided custom programming services to modify package where applicable. Managed a number of installation projects, including a 130 node network at NASA Houston Space Center and Honeywell headquarters in Minneapolis.

1976 - 1984
Founder, Applied Business Systems (ABS), an "early to market" systems house reselling DEC and Data General minicomputers bundled with standard (internally developed) off the shelf and custom software solutions. Employed 12 - 15, annual sales $3M+.
Pioneered development and documentation (technical and User Guides) of many "line-of-business" and "function-specific" canned software accounting packages to a broad range of manufacturing, construction, wholesale/distribution and warehousing firms throughout Southern California region.
Conceptualized and developed early generation parameterized data entry (Data-Master) and report generation (Report-Master) "user enabling" applications.
ABS was recognized widely as an innovative provider of early generation low cost (< $250,000) minicomputer systems.

1969 - 1976
Burroughs Corporation (leading competitor of IBM for computer market) - Territory and Zone Manager for Orange County. Developed marketing plans, supervised 2 teams of sales reps - total 10 - 15 direct salesmen. Quota buster, "best in class" sales teams - Legion of Honor (110%+ Quota) 3 years in a row.
My team designed, developed, merchandised and sold broad range of GAAP compliant accounting applications targeted to specific "lines of business." Team provided installation and training services to numerous manufacturers, automotive dealers, CPA/Client Writeup specialists, property management firms, Real Estate brokerage companies, wholesalers/distributors, retail, transportation companies, etc.
Trained junior salesmen on automated accounting systems - how to sell, install, train customers... including billing/accounts receivable, accounts payable/cash disbursements, ageing reports for both A/R & A/P, journal entries, payroll, quarterly/annual payroll reports, manual transaction data entry, trial balance, adjusting entries, preparation of financial statements and closing the books.
